So... Today at youth group I lead the lesson and this is what it was centered around.

And it went really well!

We talk about how Jesus never leaves us... no matter what!

Matthew 18: 12-14 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Romans 5:8 but God show his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I silenced a room of Jr. Highers and feel that they all took something away from the discussions. I am so blessed to have a great group that seem to strive for the teaching and knowledge about God. They all love to have a great time but when it comes down to it they know how to be serious as well. they are a great group of kids and I love that I have the opportunity to see each of them group emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They are just a great group of youth!

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

My Great Grandmother past away this evening. She was a great lady who I wish I could have had more chances to get to know. She was 89 years old. She was a pie maker and quilt sewer and she love both so dearly. She is now with my uncle Mark, my grandpas', and many others in heaven. May she rest in peace as she flies to heaven like a beautiful butterfly.

New Beginnings

So over the course of me have this blog I have done a lot of rambling and talking about memories and things that I like, enjoy, etc. But, I am now going to be a senior in high school and I want to focus on having a great last year of high school and figure out where to go from there. I want to stand out in a crowd and not sink it to the cracks. I am going to be more independent and make changes that I feel need to be made. I have one year until adulthood and I want to make that change gracefully and without any worries... (ok minimal worries)

I am turning a new leaf and I am going to thrive!

The Changes/ Goals I want to strive for:

1. Do more leadership with my Church:

I want to help our younger youth grow and expand as friends and as a family. I would love to give testimony or teach the young hearts within the family of youth. This group of young teens to young adults has been and is very strong in all that we do, and I want to watch and hep it grow.

2. Don't worry about what others think:

I am a creation of Gods and he created me as he wanted me to be and I shouldn't let others tell me want I should and shouldn't wear, think, act, or anything else they come up with.

3. Repair bruised or damaged relationships:

Over the course of life I feel I have strained some relationships that I want to heal and strengthen.

These are just a few but I feel they are a good foundation for growth all over. My life as a 16 year old has been different then most but it has prepared me for my future. I may stumble a few times but in the long run life will be better then ever. It is also going to be a struggle of strength and courage but in the long run it will make everything better.

People are always asking the question, if you could change one event in your life what would you change? And honestly if I were to truly think about it I probably wouldn't change a single thing. Yeah, my life has sucked but I feel that if I were to change one thing it would effect everything. My life as been full of depression, pain, and sadness but along with all those thing I have also learned a lot and gotten to experience thing that people may have to face in there adulthood and I will be able to sympathize with them and show them guidance and comfort. A life for any teenage can be tough but to anyone struggling, please just take care of oyurself then others. It may seem selfish but you are the most important person in your life. I am giving this advise and even I struggle with it on a day to day basis. life is not an easy stroll through the park it is a challenge and it doesn't get easier... or so I have been told. In my life life a have encountered many amazing people who have helped me though my struggles. I didn't ever think that I would have a sister (at least not biologically) but I have gain one through my experiences in life and I know that she is always willing to talk and listen to my secrets. Family is NOT blood! The way life pans out is all a part of Gods plans, and it is how his world works it is all done for a purpose. Like I said earlier life is not easy but with caring people around you, you can conquer anything. Sometime we feel like giving up but there is always at least one good thing that can trump all the bad.

Peace, Silence, and Knots

Me playing the human knot game and being silent is darn near impossible!

I'm am not a very quite person so when i am told i cant talk, it is darn near impossible. Yesterday at my youth group we played the human knot game. I was instructed not to talk because I have a leader personality and so my youth leader said no talking so I couldn't instruct people what to do. (it was very sad) I think the knot game and what my youth leader made me do, is also what God wants me to do sometimes so I can hear his voice. I am a very musical person and so silence doesn't come easy to me. Sitting in silence to me is very deafening and it just makes me feel uncomfortable. In the bible God says "be still and know that I am God." (Psalms 46:10) He wants us to become still and listen to his words. It can sometimes seem impossible but the fact is it can be done. this is just like to knot game. When it first starts out it looks impossible and when there are a lot of people giving instruction it just ends up getting confusing, but if you can just get one person to lead the pack the knot can be undone. And the undone knot can give the entire group a sense of accomplishment and victory.

We have been learning peace at my church for peace month and it has really stuck me. I have been realizing that I don't really take moments of silence as moments of peace but I see them as time that needs to be filled with other stuff. I just have to accept the silence and enjoy the talk with God that will come with the silence. Peace is a complex thing but to have peace you don't always have to be silent. It can also consisted of the way you handle situations and the happiness that can happen in life. Peace is a want and a need that i strongly desire and I hope you can have that desire as well.

All I wanted was to be warm but apperently when I try to get warm, my family trys to harm me. I was all nice and comfy until my brother started picking on me. He dragged me across the floor, pushed me down, and then he put ice packs in the base of the mummy bag, which made me cold! During all of this torture I had no way to defend myself. My arms were trapped and my legs were tied up like a roped up calf. :( it was sad! and all my dad could do was take these pictures.

I have encountered many changes in my life over the years and they seem to not be accompanied by God. I became a believer at the age of 6 in my church. I thought from then in I would have a simple and easy life. But I was all wrong! Throughout my life I have "known of" God, but i didn't truly know him. My life of death, divorce, and stress caused me to enter a depression at the age of 12 and it contiued into the summer of my ninth grade year. I attended church camp every summer and I saw God but then by the end of the summer I was back to my old ways.
Now that there is some abckround info. heres the current meaning to the picture above.

2010 summer church camp I began a change in my life. I began connecting with God more and he was bringing me friends to be able to talk to. In August, God blessed me with Samantha, a wonderful friend and now I call her my sister. She has help me with my jouney to find God and helping in finding myself. God has also given my many signs of himself though scripture and songs. God has been awaken with me and I am proud to be able to say that. God is GOOD! He love to show himself when you think its bad timing, but he know it is the PERFECT time!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 9 years ago on September 11th. She refers to that day as her second birthday because on that day of our towers falling her world didn't just do a 360 it did a 720. My mom is a completely different person because of that day. My mom wasn't and isn't the only person who is fighting or fought this horrible disease. This month of October is a month to remember all the women who are struggling or have struggled or to remember those sisters who have lost the battle to breast cancer. These women and even some men are mothers, sister, daughters, fathers, brothers, and sons; and they all deserve to be remember for there lives and journeys. This is a cancer that has no cure but the hunt is on! This month is a time to love those around you and just pray that the cure is on its way.

My mom is a lucky survivor, she was only 31 when she was diagnosed and the day we shaved her head was probably one of the hardest moments. I was 7 at that time and never truly understood why she would have to such a strange thing, but she sat me and my brother down and explained what was happening to her and she just keep telling us she was going to be OK; and it turns out she was OK. My mom is one of the strongest people I know and it is all because of what she has gone through. The only trace of the cancer is her scares and I think they are her badge of honor and survival of this scary cancer.

October is the month to celebrate with the survivors and remember those who lost their battle to Breast Cancer!

Hey all,
I have been living life just the way I do.
I live day by day hoping for the best. I can't stop thinking of the past, but I know I have got to just let my life move forward. As for what going on right now, I have found out that I am going to be in Capital Classics next year; which a choir just under the top choir. I also went to Hawks stadium yesterday and hung out with the Baker's (especially Tanya). I helped them tear down their stage and sound system. It was tons of fun and I got strawberry crepes out of it. :D I am really sore today, but it was amazingly fun!

My life will continue on until my God wants me home. I love my family and friend and I am happy to have the life that I do. (for the most part) :P

Wow, my life is so twisted I cant stand it. I don't know what to do, what to think about, or even know how to reacted. I wish I could crawl in hole and hide. My mind is so stressed I think it is going to crack any time now. All I want to do it cry, but I can't because I have nothing to cry about. I just wish my life was normal, why is it a 15 year old girl has to go through so much. And, why do I feel that I have to be the rock for everyone else. Why can't I have a normal life. I hate to have thing all about me but I am important and I cant take any more junk under my belt. I am so stressed I am sore all over. The knots in my neck have knots. Its not just in my head any more; all my stress is affecting my body and its ability to function. I just don't know what to do.

Ew... Its only the second day back and i am ready to be done. It is so uneventful! The only semi-fun part is the research project I am doing in English. I am doing it on Oskar Shindler and it is actually quite interesting. But, I still wish it was spring break.
I am just glad that I have good friends and family that push me to stay in school and continue on my journey to college. i am not say that i would quit school if I didn't have those people but I do think that it would be a lot harder to do.

The pictures don't tell the whole story!
I went to work with my mom, and then I came home. I was picked up by Tanya and we went and enjoyed a hot cup of coffee (well hot coco for me). Then we picked up Zach and Gloria and headed to the church. The drive to the church was very exciting, a flat tire, a picture, and a ton of jokes. But, when we got to the church the real party began. There was a tense game of Catan and amazing food. Then at midnight we watched the ball drop and proceeded on to take down lights at a show the Bakers' had. Then finally I got to go home, but on the way there was some exciting yet weird conversations in Tanya's little red truck.

It is offically the last day of the year. This is a pretty amazing day. I think this it is one of the best day of the year, because its the last. The only day that is better then today is my birthday of coarse. No i am just kidding, but my birthday is a pretty cool day as well.
but as for today lets just make it a good day and i am going to start the new year of 2010 off with a bang.

My name is Stephanie, and I am a Sophomore at Capital High School. I have had a very rough life but I have made it this far because I have friends and family that love me and support all my decisions.
I love to sing and just be myself. In the future I would love to sing professionally but I think that if that doesn't turn out I would love to work with kids. I am who I am and I don't really care what others think of me. So I am who I am and I just want to show other a peak at the way I live.
